The high-quality leather of all SEKRÈ mystery bags is treated with an additional champagne bath after an elaborate tanning process. What is the benefit?

The premium cow leather we use is one of the best raw materials available in the market. The hides are refined by a small Italian manufactory with over one hundred years of artisan tradition. Together with this supplier, SEKRÈ has developed an innovative tanning process in which the leather is drenched in champagne in several steps after the actual tanning process. In this way, tannic acid and moisture are extracted from the leather. During the following drying process the alcohol evaporates and the cavities in the skin tissue fill with air. This reduces the agglutination of the fibres, so that the skin becomes even smoother after some extra manual pulling and stretching. 

This adds a particularly soft touch to the leather whereas the champagne pearls give it more volume.
